It can take between 6 - 10 years (or more) until a new rose is ready for release to the public. One of the most important aspects of Bob's breeding programme isn't just genetics but also trialing under spray free conditions - resulting in the best easy care garden roses to enjoy. Many of Bob's roses have gone on to win awards both in New Zealand and overseas. In recent years Bob, along with his daughter Samantha have been thrilled to introduce the 'MY ROSE COLLECTION' range exclusive to Matthews Roses.
